Foundation in Cytopathology
Course Overview
This course provides an in-depth exploration of cytopathology, focusing on the study and interpretation of cellular samples for disease diagnosis. Participants will gain a solid foundation in cytological techniques, preparation methods, and diagnostic principles. The course will delve into the microscopic features of various benign, inflammatory, and malignant conditions, offering insights into their clinical significance. Learners will also explore the role of cytopathology in screening programs, such as cervical cancer prevention, and its applications in fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) and liquid-based cytology.
The course is structured into engaging modules, combining lectures, case studies, and practical demonstrations. It is ideal for pathologists, cytopathologists, MD pathology students, and faculty members seeking to refine their diagnostic acumen and stay updated with advancements in the field.

About the Trainer
Dr. Haimanti Sarin is currently Director and Head, Cytopathology, Medanta Hospitals, Gurgaon and has been previously associated with institutions of high repute such as Artemis Hospitals, and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. An MD Pathology from Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi, she has completed her fellowship(cytopathology) from the University of Miami, USA.
She is actively devoted to academic advancement of the field of cytopathology:
• 24 indexed publications (12 in last 5 years)
• Invited Faculty lectures at National and International Pathology meetings
• DNB teaching (2013 - ongoing) – Guide and Co-guide for 8 DNB theses, mentored Cytopathology & Oncopathology fellows
• Faculty for the national DNB program (NBE), 2021 and 2022
• Supervised and co-author for 22 posters by DNB students and fellows (6 of these won 1st prize, including awards at European Congress of Cytology)
• Successfully completed NABH Hospital Assessor course, May 2023
